Individu Lepaskan Belon Kuning Dalam Acara Najib Ditahan Polis

Dance history teacher Bilqis, 35, daughter of renowned architect Hijjas Kasturi, was alleged to have dropped yellow balloons with the words “democracy”, “free media” and “justice” printed on them from Level 5 of Pavillion Mall in Jalan Bukit Bintang while they were attending the opening ceremony of the DiverseCity International Arts festival which was taking place on the mall’s ground floor. According to the report, the balloons floated behind a big screen television installed at the event site. Bilqis was reportedly picked up by the mall’s security team and handed over to the police for investigation. Her statement was recorded at the Dang Wangi police station and she was released later on Sunday night. Police are believed to be investigating the matter under Section 504 of the Penal Code for the offence of intentional insult. Section 504 reads: “Whoever intentionally insults, and thereby gives provocation to any person, intending or knowing it to be likely that such provocation will cause him to break the public peace, or to commit any other offence, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with fine or with both.” FMT understands for the charge to be successfully proven, the provocation must be sufficient for the Prime Minister, his wife or someone in their entourage “to be likely to break the public peace or to commit [an] offence” – a highly unlikely scenario.
